BATTS Terms and Conditions

  • All private hire journeys must be pre-booked through the office, telephone, email, website, app or other approved booking method. Drivers must not accept private hire bookings directly unless the booking has been made through the licensed operator.
  • The customer is responsible for providing accurate booking details, including pick-up address, destination, date, time, passenger numbers, luggage requirements and any special requirements. Any changes may affect the quoted fare.
  • Quoted fares are based on the journey details supplied at the time of booking. Additional charges may apply for extra stops, changes to route, additional mileage, parking, tolls, congestion charges, airport charges, waiting time or other costs outside the original booking.
  • Waiting time is free for the first 5 minutes. After this, waiting time will be charged at 50 pence per minute.
  • Cancellation of a journey is free when cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled journey time. If a journey is cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled journey time, the full fare is payable.
  • A booking may be treated as a no-show if the passenger is not available at the agreed pick-up point and cannot be contacted within a reasonable time. No-shows may be charged at the full fare.
  • Booking amendments, including changes to time, date, pick-up point, destination or vehicle type, are subject to availability and should be requested as early as possible. Late amendments may be refused or may result in additional charges.
  • Customers must select a suitable vehicle for the number of passengers, luggage and any mobility or accessibility requirements. The company may refuse to carry passengers or luggage exceeding the vehicle’s legal or safe capacity.
  • Passengers must wear seatbelts where required by law and must follow the driver’s reasonable safety instructions. Smoking, vaping, alcohol consumption, illegal substances, abusive behaviour or damage to the vehicle will not be accepted.
  • The company reserves the right to refuse, suspend or terminate a journey where the passenger’s behaviour presents a safety risk, is abusive, unlawful or may damage the vehicle. The full fare may still be payable.
  • Passengers are responsible for their own luggage and personal belongings. The company is not responsible for loss or damage unless caused by proven negligence.
  • The company will use reasonable care and skill to provide the service, but will not be liable for delays caused by traffic, road closures, accidents, severe weather, vehicle breakdown, police activity, events or other circumstances outside its reasonable control.
  • Account customers must pay invoices within the agreed payment terms. The company may suspend or close an account where invoices remain unpaid, credit limits are exceeded or account information is inaccurate.
  • Any complaint should be made in writing as soon as possible and should include the booking reference, journey date, time, pick-up address and details of the concern so the matter can be investigated.
  • Personal data supplied for bookings and account management will be processed for transport, invoicing, payment, compliance and customer service purposes in accordance with UK data protection law.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these terms affects any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
